Kericell Nursery has been growing Kiwifruit rootstock for many years. Initially, as part of Zespris development program in conjunction with Hort Research & lately to supply the ever growing market with quality rootstock grown under cover to supply the industry having issues associated with PSA.

Seed is collected from local orchards that to date have been PSA free & mother plants are tested at collection time for PSA. Kericell Nursery was one of the first nurseries to be accredited by KVH with the Assure Quality Core Standard. This core standard gives growers & orchardists  an assurance of collective standards & protocols of traceability.

Kericell Nursery has developed a set of standards & growing systems that fit well for the production of rootstock, mainly Bruno which are grown in a 2 litre firm plastic pot, the seedlings are grown to approx. 1m tall & then the growing tip is removed to enhance strong stem growth & thickness for grafting.

Kericell Nursery have our own delivery trucks & cages & cover the North Island on a weekly delivery schedule for commercial supply only.
